Read Daniel 3:1-23
- How would you describe the King in this story?
The King is very much like an ordinary King of that time. During that time, Kings often believed they were Gods and therefore were very egotistical and thought they should be worshiped as a God.
- What change took place in the King that lead to the attempted execution of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego?
Verse 19 says that the King’s attitude changed towards them. Although he was angry with them, he did not act harshly against them until his attitude towards them changed.
- Through this story and your own personal experience, how can our attitudes affect the way we act? How have you seen this in your life?
Our attitudes affect us more than we know. Often times just a change in our attitude causes us to act totally differently towards others and changes our views on just about everything. Please share a personal experience of either yourself or someone you know..
Read Ephesians 4:22-24
- Name some worldly attitudes that can be harmful and often need to be changed when living for God.
Some of these attitudes include things like “you are what you drive”, “you are what you eat”, “you are your best friend”, “you need to be the best”, “your bank account reflects your success”, etc.
Read Psalm 24
- What is one thing that speaks to you from this Psalm?
Go around and ask everyone to share.
- What kind of attitude do you currently have concerning money?
Go around and ask everyone to share.
- How do you think you got that attitude? (i.e. who or what has influenced you)
Many times our attitude towards money come from our childhood. Most people tend to have the same attitudes about money as their parents. The truth is that all of us have certain attitudes about money.
- How does this Psalm affect your attitude towards your finances?
Go around and ask everyone to share.
